How it works

01 Export from WordPress

Go to Tools → Export → All content. Download the .xml WXR file.

02 Upload the file

Drag and drop your .xml file in Dashboard → Settings → Import. The parser shows a full preview instantly.

03 Choose what to import

Select content types via checkboxes. Import everything or only what you need.

04 Done

WallabyX imports content, downloads media, converts HTML to blocks and maps menus automatically.

All static pages and blog articles. HTML content is automatically converted to WallabyX page builder blocks. Slugs preserved for SEO.

Featured images and inline media downloaded from your WordPress server, optimized as WebP and uploaded to WallabyX storage.

Menus

Navigation menus imported with full hierarchy. First menu → header, second → footer. Internal links resolved automatically.

WooCommerce Products

Products with price, gallery images and categories. Product reviews with 1-5 star ratings imported and linked to the correct product.

Comments

Comments with nested replies (up to 3 levels). Approved, pending and spam status preserved. Linked to imported pages automatically.

Categories & Tags

Post categories, product categories and tags imported and linked automatically. Created if they don't exist yet.

Good to know

WordPress shortcodes [like_this] are not interpreted — they appear as plain text. Content from Elementor, Divi or other page builders may not import correctly if saved as shortcodes. Standard HTML content imports perfectly.

Images are downloaded from your live WordPress server during import — so the source site must be online. Images are optimized as WebP and stored in WallabyX storage. No external dependency after import.

WordPress users are not imported. All content will be attributed to the user performing the import. This is a deliberate decision to avoid mapping external accounts.

You can force all published content to be imported as drafts. Useful if you want to review everything before making it live on WallabyX.

If a comment references a post that wasn't imported (e.g. because you filtered it out), the comment is skipped. Same for product reviews without their parent product.
